About the Quick&Quirky

These fun little A5 portraits were born from a happy accident back in 2022, when a lovely friend and fellow artist gifted me a set of chalk pastels (Thank you so much Glen! @chainsaw_glen)

I hadn’t really used chalk pastels since childhood, so I spent an afternoon just playing - scribbling away, drawing friends’ pets, seeing what this new material could do. I was looking for something I could create quickly at my market stalls, and somewhere in that afternoon of experimentation, the Quick&Quirky sketch was born!

By July I was drawing dog portraits at a launch party for a new dog treat brand, and by the end of summer I found myself in London, sketching dogs for guests at an exclusive Butternut Box event.

I’ve since had the pleasure of attending some wonderful events, from the Treacle Market, to Chelsea Dog Day.

By early summer 2022, I was offering the Quick&Quirky portrait at some local summer fairs… and things moved quickly from there!

Now you can catch me doing my live pet portraits at various markets throughout the year, up and down the country.

My Quick&Quirky sketches are available to order directly in A5 and A4 sizes, for one, two, or three pets, over on the ‘Order a Commission’ page.

I can draw any pet, animal, or creature - hamster, tortoise, budgie, leopard; if you have a photo, I can create a portrait for you.

And your pets don’t have to be sat together!

I can draw your three cats in the same portrait, even if you don’t have a single photo of them sat together. Just pick your favourite photo of each of them, and let me do the rest.
